Movie Review- “The Last Lear”

An Astonishing performance by the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. The Last Lear is a must see film by all Big B fans. Rituporno Ghosh has taken out the best of the entire castings of his latest released film “The Last Lear”. The other castings also did well performance here. Priety Zinta as Shabnam, Arjun Rampal as Siddharth (who is playing the role of a director), Shefali Shetty as Vandana, Jishu Sengupta as a film Journalist and also Divya Dutta in a role of nurse all did extremely good performance.

Rituporno Ghosh directed Last Lear is an excellent movie which is an onscreen adaptation of the famous play ‘Aajker Shahjahan’ played by Utpal Dutta.

This movie is basically based on an aging actor who spent all his life playing Shakespearean plays. When he is about to play the role of King Lear, he has a stage –fight and retires into a life of recluse.Gautam (Jishu Sengupta) and film director Siddharth (Arjun Rampal) meets Harish (Amitabh Bachchan) and persuades him to play a role in the film The Mask. Harish loves theatres and hates film. At last Harish acted in that film with an excellent performance but unfortunately he can’t see it due to an on-shoot accident that puts him in a state of coma. Finally the film ends on a very positive note.
