It’s good that the film was released during IPL

Actor Emraan Hashmi says his latest release ‘Jannat’, where he played the role of a bookie, couldn’t have the time better to coincide with the ongoing Indian Premiere League (IPL) matches. In an interview Emraan said "It was not deliberate, but it's good that the film was released during the IPL ... And I believe there is no harm in showing the black aspect of cricket".

He explained " 'Jannat' is a love story with the background of cricket and the dark alleys of the game".

Also Emraan revealed an interesting issue that he met few cricket bookies in Mumbai to get a better understanding of their lifestyle.

Yet the story of Jannat is not only concerned about cricket but there is also love story. Emraan Hashmi is looking as a matured actor here. But it’s really difficult to say that the film can create any impact in the real life or people will deeply think about the negative part of the game whatever the bookies are doing. So releasing during IPL would probably not make any effect.
