Lage Raho Munnbhai – Wins four national Awards
The smash hit Bollywood movie of 2006 ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ has been awarded the prestigious National Award. The film was adjudged the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment.
"Lage Raho Munnabhai", which brought Mahatma Gandhi back into the popular reckoning and starred Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan, won the National Award for best popular film providing wholesome entertainment. It was given for "revalidating the philosophy of non-violence in a strife-torn world and helping rediscover the Gandhi within the common man", read the citation.
Veteran actor Dilip Prabhavalkar, who won the national award for best supporting actor for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in "Lage Raho Munnabhai", says the role that helped revive Gandhian philosophy among youths has been his toughest till date. Prabhavalkar told PTI "I have won several awards in the past. But this one is precious as I am getting it for a performance which has been the toughest so far. My role made Gandhi lovable and acceptable to the youth". As per Prabhavalkar, the main credit goes to Rajkumar Hirani for creating and conceiving Bapu in such a manner that the present day world can identify with.

Shocked to see the award list.Is it fair not to give any award to our curkit(Arswad).As my point of view....This isn't fair.Personally i think Cerkit had a significant role to MBBS popularity and he is the only character who got utmost popularity and also got a name popular nick name cerkit.Isn't enough reason to judge him?
