Craze of comedy movies in Bollywood

It has been said that Comedy is positively the essence of entertainment. Just like one drop of honey can change the flavor of a dish, comedy may also change a boring subject to an interesting mood. Once upon a time in Bollywood, there was a trend of action films. But now it turns to comedy. Now there are lots of comedy films which released in recent time like Partner, Hey babyy, Dhamaal, Dhol, Budha Mar Gaya, Masti, No Entry, Garam Masala, Shaadi No.1, Golmaal, Hera Pheri etc.

If you thought about Bollywood comedian then first of all came out in your mind Mehmood. During the 90s it was the time for stars like Govinda who made a history by doing only comedy movies. Todays leading comedian Johnny Lever is well known for his funny characters which he has played in different movies. In the film Baazigar he had played the role of a butler (Babulal) who forgets all important matters and this forgetfulness creates some humorous moments in this movie. In the Film ‘Hera Pheri’ Paresh Rawal played a funny character as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte which has been known as one of best performances being a comedian. In ‘Hera Pheri’ Akshay Kumar also played a witty role. Salman Khan was too good in his comedy film Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya. Celina Jaitley and Lara Dutta were quite good in the film No Entry.

Many comedy movies are there in Bollywood which do not have a strong story line but the most interesting thing is that they’re all fully entertaining. You won’t feel boring at all in watching them. Also an interesting thing is that some action Heros and actors who generally play serious type of role are now also playing comedy roles beautifully. Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt are some of them.

The success of comedy movies is growing up. So, it is expected that in future we will be get numerous comedy movies from Bollywood.

Jodhaa Akbar

After the success of “Dhoom2” Hrithik-Ash pair will be seen in “Jodhaa Akbar” and it is the first film of Aishwarya after her marriage with Abhishek Bachchan. This film will be released on 15th February, 2008 in India, Netherlands and USA, only in Germany the film will be released on 3rd April. But the music of this movie has already launched at Grant Hyatt on 19th January, 2008. The film directed and produced by Ashutosh Gowariker who was the director of Oscar-nominated film ‘Lagaan’ and the music is composed by A.R.Rahman. The response to the first two songs has been unpredictably encouraging.

The film “Jodhaa Akbar” is based on a true love story of sixteenth century between the Mughal emperor Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar (Hrithik Roshan) and a Rajput princess Jodhaa Bai (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). Emperor Akbar rapidly prolonged his kingdom Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal and the Himalayas to the Godavari River with his deluxe power. On that way he assembles with the most confrontational Hindus Rajput and made a good friendship with them. This initiated the new escapade of Mughal emperor life, the adventure of true love, because he married Rajput princess Jodhaa Bai. According to history, in real life Akbar’s wife was known as Hira-kunwari and after marriage she became Mariam-uz-Zamani. But the experts said that the name Jodhaa Bai is a mistake of 19th century, although it is controversial. Though Jodhaa married to Akbar but she had not changed her religion.

Chandni Chowk to China

In 2008 the Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar and the Peacock of Bollywood Deepika Padukone will be seen together in a new Bollywood movie, “Chandni Chowk to China. Superstar Mithun Chakraborty also playing a role in this film.

After the success of her debut film’ Om Shanti Om” Deepika Padukone will be seen pairing with Akshay Kumar under the direction of Nikhil Advani in “Chandni Chowk to China”. It’s previously known as ‘Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo’and also ‘Made in China’. The film is written by Sridhar Raghavan, produced by Ramesh Sippy Entertainment & Orion Pictures, and this would be the first time a Bollywood movie will be distributed worldwide by Warner Brothers Pictures. It is an action-adventure-comedy packed movie to be shot in china. Shooting will be done in Shanghai and Beijing. Director Nikhil Advani is too much excited about shooting in shanghai, he told “No Hindi film has been shot there before. We’ve already zeroed in on the areas where we’ll be shooting.”

Akshay is making his comeback from comedy roles to martial arts and breathtaking actions. However, there is a question that is “Chandni Chowk to China” is Akshay’s story? As there is a bit similarity where Akshay used to be a cook in his early stage of life and later his life turned in a different way. The film’s leading lady Deepika Padukone is a tall, slim and royal appearing, like Akshay’s life partner Twinkle.

The shooting will begin on February 2008 and Director Advani will drape it up by May.

TAARE ZAMEEN PAR- every parent must see the film

It’s Aamir Khan’s creation with an innovative thought which is very much realistic with sensible touch in every part of the film. A fantastic movie with deep thoughts reflects everywhere in the story and also in acting. It’s not only a touchy film but also gives lesson to the society, especially the parents who force their children to win the rat race anyway.

Castings are not so special. Except Aamir Khan others are not so renowned. Darsheel Safary, Tisca Chopra, M. K. Raina, Tanay Cheda, Sachet Engineer, Vipin Sharma are the other who played extremely well and watching the movie you find that they’re not looking that they’re acting…..everything is so realistic! Aamir undoubtedly played well with his strong acting ability. But the little one Darsheel Safary (named Ishaan Awasthi in the film) is really outstanding!

In the film Ishaan Awasthi suffers with Dyslexia, a mental disorder associated with learning disability. Previously no one guessed it and naturally the eight year old Ishaan had to suffer a lot whose world filled with wonders, colour, fish, dogs, kites which are not important in the present viable world. No body tried to understand that Ishaan is not like some other child who does not have any dilemma. Parents, teachers are only thinking about his poor marks but didn’t try to know his problem for a while. Aamir Khan (Ram Shankar Nikumbh in the film) played as Ishaan’s teacher who noticed the problem and at last solved it. He gave Ishaan a new life.

Unforgettable moment I’ve found in the film is the trauma of Ishaan’s separation from his family.

A film that can also show you a nice relationship of teacher and student. Every parent should watch it to know the fact that “every child is special”.

Congratulation Aamir for gifting us such a beautiful film that can melt everyone’s heart!
