Darsheel was both nervous and confident!!

Darsheel Safary, 12 years old and also the star of the blockbuster movie Taare Zameen Par was a debut model at Neetu Lulla’s show of Lakme Fashion Week. Over there Darsheel wore an off white shirt and a brown velvet suit. “I was both nervous and confident. I did not do any practice but it was nice.” Said Darsheel!!

Darsheel also said “I like what I am wearing and would give 10 out of 10 to her.”

Sameera Reddy was at the show. About Darsheel she said “However, I must confess that Darsheel stole the show. I have seen so many show stoppers but he was the best.”

“There is plenty of time to do serious films”- Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif is quite happy with her newest released film ‘Race’. She is enjoying doing fun commercial movies. Katrina said “I am pretty clear about what I want to do. I don't want to go down the road doing serious cinema. I am happy doing commercial films. The fun films give the audience time to escape the monotony in everyday life."

She also said “I love what I am doing and there is plenty of time to do serious films. I am sure I will do them. But at this point I am really enjoying myself and I love dancing, I love the characters I am playing. Last year, I did a lot of comedies; at the same time I did Namastey London, which was a fantastic character. This year, I have a slightly greater variety of roles.” When she has asked about her success in Bollywood, Katrina replied “I don't think it's a matter where you place yourself. It's a matter of how your fan feels about you and where the industry finds you. At this particular place I think I am lucky to be able to say that I do get offers for a lot of film."

Katrina has several interesting projects in her hand, like ‘Singh is King’ with Akshay Kumar and Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani’. ‘Singh is King’ is a comedy film and for Rajkumar Santoshi’s film Katrina said “Rajkumar Santoshi's script is one of the best scripts I have ever heard. It will be a new experience for me." Katrina also doing her work in a film with John Abraham under Yash Raj banner.

Aamir Khan shaves head

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has shaved most of his hair off for his role in Ghajini. He wrote in his blog titled, Its finally off my head: “Yes I've finally buzzed off most of my hair. After Murgadoss was totally satisfied that we had got all the shots we needed with my hair, including the photoshoot etc., he gave me the go ahead.”

Aamir has debuted his shaved look at the premiere of the bollywood’s new movie ‘Race’.

Aamir has decided to go bald which was demanded by the script of the hindi remake of the Tamil hit film ‘Ghajini’. It is reported that though Aamir was offered to don a wig, the perfectionist chose to actually clean-shave his head.

Aamir is believed to be most comfortable with his Dil Chahta Hai hair-stylist, Avaan Contractor. Hence, Avaan might just do the honors.

Previously, many actors have sacrificed their hair for their roles. Salman Khan did it for Tere Naam and Aditya Panscholi for Musafir. Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das had also shaved their heads for Water, but the shoot was stalled.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is the comeback movie of Director Aditya Chopra. One and only Shahrukh Khan will play the lead role along with Sonam Kapoor. The film deals with the love story of a 40 year old man and a 16 year old girl. So Aditya Chopra was finding some problem in choosing the right girl for SRK. Many talent hunts were organized which lead to nothing. Finally Adi Zeroed in Sonam Kapoor. Playing a 40 year old guy is quite easy for SRK but will Sonam be able to perform a role of 16 year old girl? ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is going to be released on 12th December 2008.

Hot Khans Duo in Billo Barber

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and Irrfan Khan will work together in ace Director Priyadarshan’s upcoming hindi movie ‘Billo Barber’. But for SRK fan’s the news is a bit disappointing as he is in a supporting role and the lead role is playing by Irrfan Khan. The movie is going to be produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

‘Billo Barber’ having a story which is mainly inspired from the story of Krishna and Sudama. Here the story is about the friendship of a rich actor (SRK) and a poor barber (Irrfan Khan). The two are friends from school who grow up and drift until they meet again.

According to rumors, SRK will be romancing three top actresses-Kareena, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. The lady opposite Irrfan Khan is yet to be finalized. Most probably Ameesha Patel or Tabu will clinch the deal.

Lara Dutta- Love, Dino and movies

There was a success needed for Lara Dutta what she got from the movie ‘Partner’. Now she has the movies like ‘Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai’ with Govinda and an action-filled Blue with Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar.

After her crack with Kelly Dorjee, Lara was connected with many, right from her co-star in Partner Salman Khan to the much-married Bobby Deol with whom she has done many films. The latest is her alleged proximity to Dino Morea. Lara says about these allegations “I take this rumours in my stride. If I sit and worry about it, I’ll go mad.” She also said “I have known Dino for half my life. So if I go out to lunch or a movie with him, I have every right to.”

Ask Lara if her Western outlook is coming in the way of her not getting as many offers as her rivals, and she begs to differ. “Everybody has their own place here,” says she, “I got the most feedback on my role in Andaaz and Partner. Both were very Indian in their outlook.”

Sameera Reddy does not feel any problem acting in unglamorous role. According to her such role reveals an actor’s true talent.

Akshay, Deepika and Riteish in Sajid Khan’s next film

After the huge success of ‘Heyy Babyy’ Sajid Khan has signed Akshay Kumar, Deepika Pdukone and Riteish Deshmukh for his next film. After Chandni Chowk to China Sajid’s next film is the second film where Akshay and Deepika would work together. “The film is yet to be titled and I need to talk to some other stars as well. It is going to be a multistarrer,” said Sajid Khan.

Sajid also said confidently “The film would go on floor by the end of the year and its going to be a romantic comedy. It's not on the lines of 'Heyy Babyy' and it is for sure going to be the biggest hit film of 2009”.

Kareena gets nervous working with Salman

Kareen Kapoor, Bollywood’s one of the most famous and highest paid actress has recently started shooting ‘Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’ with Salman Khan. She says the idea of working with her “sister’s co-star” makes her nervous. Kareena said "Although we've done Priyadarshan's 'Kyon Ki...' before, I always get nervous working with Salman. He was my sister's hero long before we were paired together. And now to be doing a film with him,"

"'Main Aur Mrs. Khanna' is an intensely romantic film. I don't think Salman has done a pure love story like this before. Neither have I. Sohail is also in the film." Kareena said.

Multi star thriller ‘Race’

Director duo Abbas-Mustan’s multi star thriller movie ‘Race’ is the story of two brothers- Ranvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Rajiv Singh (Akshaye Khanna), who live on the edge of live. They breed horses on their huge ranch houses and are one of the biggest bookies in the horse racing circuit. Ranvir is known to be very smart and aggressive while Rajiv is a constant alcoholic. The film has also Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu. Here Katrina is playing a role of Ranvir’s secretary who loves him. But Ranvir does not give it importance. In ‘Race’ Bipasha is playing a role of upcoming Indian Ramp model in Cape Town. Though she loves Ranvir, but a twist of fate gets her married to his younger brother Rajiv. This film also has a nice performance of Anil Kapoor who plays a role of detective with his personal assistant Sameera Reddy, a dumb blonde.

The movie has been shot at a beautiful location of Durban, Cape Town and also at Mumbai. Earlier Mallika Sherawat had been selected for the role of personal assistant of Anil Kapoor. But later she has been dropped and Sameera was signed for that particular role.

The releasing date has been scheduled on 21st March, 2008.

Bachchan denied any ‘Bad Vibes’ with Shahrukh

Amitabh Bachchan denied any ‘Bad Vibes’ between them while referring to Shahrukh Khan. “It is a media-created animosity. He is a friend”, Mr.Bachchan said while talking to the reporters at Cinemax, Versova in Northwest Mumbai. Unfortunately the day was not in favor for Big B. He walked in at quarter past nine for his programme scheduled at 6.30 p.m. This is quite uncommon for him as punctuality has always been the superstar’s strong point. He apologized to the media, explaining that he was first held up by a shoot and then by the evening traffic. Along with Amitabh Bachchan the producer Mr. Ravi Chopra of his forthcoming film ‘Bhootnath’ was also there.

The movie ‘Bhootnath’ is about a child’s innocent and unsullied love and how it can turn a foe into a friend. Bachchan here plays a cantankerous grandfather who later becomes a partner in pranks indulged in by his seven-year-old grandson Banku (Aman Siddiqui).

‘Bhootnath’ has a star casting with Juhi Chawla, Satish Shah, Rajpal Yadav, Tejas with special appearance of Shahrukh Khan.

Animation- a new blockbuster in Bollywood

Animator Simi Nallaseth is now directing an animation film The Dream Blanket. This film is based on a Tibetan fairy tale with elements of ghost stories of the Northeast for Bollywood major UTV Motion Pictures. She said “When I returned to India in 2003, I went to several producers with The Dream Blanket but none were willing to touch it. Then Hanuman came, and suddenly the market opened”.

Nallaseth is not the only one weaving animated dreams around Indian cinema these days. This summer, audiences will get to watch Roadside Romeo, made by Yashraj films, as part of three-film tie-up with The Walt Disney Studios.

The film-in mainstream format with songs and all- is about a spoilt-brat dog abandoned on Mumbai’s streets. It’s voiced by Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor and directed by actor Jugal Hansraj.

Later this year, there’s the international-scale Sultan The Warrior featuring superstar Rajnikanth as a mythological larger-than-life Hero. The movies being made by Rajnikanth’s daughter Soundarya at her Ocher Studios in Chennai and is co-produced by Reliance Entertainment’s Adlabs Films.

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is turning the lens on animation movies and Ajay Devgan will act in the animation-cum-live action Toonpur ka Superhero. Even directors like Govind Nihalani are foraying into animation.

Says Navin Shah, CEO, P9 Integrated, a division of PPC whose animation film, Hanuman released in 2005, led the way: “Hanuman was an eye-opener. Now animation films are poised to be a big industry.” Adds BR Films’ chief Ravi Chopra: “Animation is coming of age in India.”

“We’re investing in creating entertainment assets,” said Navin Shah. Now, Shah will leverage Percept’s experience in marketing animation films with Jumbo, an animation product required from Bangkok, this summer. Shah also said “We’re going to be the market leaders by far in animation,” said Shah.

Shahrukh admits Aamir as ‘Bollywood’s Badshah’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is now involved in a jousting with Superstar Aamir Khan. Responding to a recent swipe at him by Aamir Khan, he said on Thursday he was happy to be called "No. 2" of Indian cinema.

Aamir had recently, reportedly, said he himself was the numero uno of Bollywood and Shah Rukh came second to him. Shahrukh said "Aamir is a dear friend and if he has said that I am the No. 2 actor, it is a great compliment to me". He also said "We have great regard for each other. He is 100 per cent number one."

"We are completely opposite. The only similarity is that we are both Khans" Shahrukh also said.

What about Aamir Khan’s reaction? Talking to the reporters on yesterday he said "Well what can I say. Shah Rukh always likes to be in the second position". While asking him what he’ll ask Shahrukh if he gets a chance to interview him, Aamir replied "That's a tricky question. I would ask Shah Rukh how does it feel to be second after Aamir?"

However Shahrukh said "Aamir said that in sweetness and fun. There is nothing to read more into it".

Shahrukh Khan’s recent film ‘Om Shanti Om’ was pitted against Aamir Khan’s critically acclaimed “Tare Zameen Par’, described the latter as “an intellectual and intelligent person”.

Ajay Devgan’s directional movie U, Me Aur Hum

After a long time the husband-wife duo of Ajay Devgan and Kajol is coming back in ‘U, Me Aur Hum’. This film is also special for Ajay Devgan as ‘U, Me Aur Hum’ is Ajay’s debut film as a director.

The storyline is something like: The first time Ajay saw Pia, she served him drinks. She affected him more than the alcohol, and he found true love. He was a leading psychiatrist, but she messed up his mind. The first time Pia saw Ajay, he had too much to drink. She watched him make a fool of himself, and was relieved when he passed out. She was a woman who followed her heart, but despite his claims of true love, she had made up her mind. Thus began the story of Ajay and Pia. A love story.

Rakhi Sawant, the popular item girl is all set to enter the A league of Bollywood with her item song for ‘Krazzy 4’- Rakesh Roshan’s movie, directed by Jaideep Sen. This week the trailers of her song "Dekhta Hai Tu Kya" is going to be aired. Rakhi was so excited to be approached by Rakesh Roshan since it was for such a prestigious cinema house like FilmKraft Productions.

The director Jaideep Sen said "Rakhi Sawant is professionalism personified. She danced for almost 12 hours with just a two-hour break in between. She was very happy to be part of the film and we are very impressed with her dance performance in this song."

Bollywood Actress Priyanka Chopra pledges to donate her organs

In the presence of defense Minister Shri A K Anthony at the inaugural function of 16th Annual Conference of the Indian National Association for study of Liver (INASL), bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra pledged her organs for the service of humanity. This was organized by the Army Medical Corp. Priyanka Chopra said "I was here because the function was organised by theArmy Medical Corps and I am a child of an Army personnel". As per Priyanka, she realized the importance of organ donation when her father was ill. She also said “The number of organ donors in India is low. If one person donates, he or she can help not just one but many other people in need.” Former cricketer and Member of Parliament Navjot Singh Sidhu also pledged to donate his organs.

Among other bollywood actress Preity Zinta, Former Miss India Nikita Anand and Gul Panag and also many army officers have already pledged their organs for donation.

Ranbir’s passion on Soccer

You might get surprised to know that apart from an actor, Ranbir Kapoor has a passion on Football. But not too many people know about it. Recently Bollywood played a charity benefit match against a professional team of soccer players at “Abhijeet Kadam Memorial Football Cup tournament in Pune”.
Ranbir made the spectators and his colleagues surprised after making four goals out of seven. Suniel Shetty was quite excited about Ranbir, "I was so surprised! I thought Ranbir was a damn good actor. But I didn't know the boy played soccer like a dream. He's just so good on the field; it's scary," said Suniel. Suniel also said "I was there for the charity football on Tuesday for my son's sake though because of school he couldn't attend." Suniel himself is a cricket fan but his son is a big soccer fan.
And why does Suniel find the thought of Ranbir playing soccer so well scary? "Because sports is finally giving Bollywood a run for its money," observes Suniel. Ranbir plays soccer like a professional. Now Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta have gone into cricket.
"Let the IPL (Indian Premier League) matches begin and the cinema theatres will be deserted. First the board exams in March and then the IPL matches in April, I think the movie business is in big trouble this year."

Comic Thriller ‘Mithya’

The film ‘Mithya’ directed by Rajat Kapoor is basically a thriller movie with a minimum dose of comedy. The main star castings are Ranvir Shorey (playing double role), Neha Dhupia, Naseeruddin Shah, Saurabh Shukla, Brijendra Kala, Vinay Patak, and Harsh Chhaya with rest of the cast. After ‘Raghu Romeo’ and ‘Mixed Doubles’ this is Rajat Kapoor’s third venture. Rajat Kapoor himself wrote the script of ‘Mithya’ and the screenplay of it has been written by him and Saurabh Shukla.

The story is based on VK (name of Ranvir Shorey in the film), who is a struggling actor in filmdom. But his life gets change due to some eccentric incidents. His face is an exact-replica of an underworld Don. Thus he got a chance to act in real life. He had to play a role with full of action, drama, romance, deceit and betrayal. Ranvir Shorey’s performance is outstanding in the film. Also Neha Dhupia acted well in her role. Naseeruddin Shah is needless to say good. Also other castings performed well.

Overall ‘Mithya’ is a good movie. But don’t expect to watch a comedy movie like ‘Bheja Fry’. ‘Mithya’ has suspense with plenty of surprises. Actually it’s a different type of movie in comparison with other Bollywood movies.
