Bollywood Box Office report of the week
Another release of this week ‘Sirf- Life looks greener on the other side’ starring Manisha Koirala, Kay Kay Menon, Ranvir Shorey had a poor to bad start and will join the list of the big failures of the year.
Tanuja Chandra’s English film ‘Hope and a little sugar’ and ‘Salakhain’ these two films got rejected by the audiences with a total collections of 15-20 lakhs from India.
Ajay Devgan's U me aur hum drops in the second week, after a below par performance in the first. U me aur hum added around 6.75 crores and so far the film has netted 19.25 crores in two weeks from India.
As may be recalled, KRAZZY 4 scored heavily during the first four days but saw quite a fast drop afterwards. Meanwhile the film is reasonably successful in overseas with grosses of $268,364 and $487,215 from UK and US respectively.
Samar Khan’s Shaurya has collected 1.20 lakhs from Mumbai, 6.50 lakhs from Delhi and 2.40 lakhs from Gurgaon.
Khuda kay liye is steady in big cities. Shoaib Mansoor directed Khuda kay liye adds another 50 lakhs and has so far netted 1.85 crores in three weeks from India. This Pakistani film has got to an average status in India.
Ashwani Dheer’s One Two Three, a semi hit in India has also got a decent success in overseas, grossing $ 229,209 from UK and 274,589 from US.
Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Race’ has another good and steady week and significant collections to show! ‘Race’ is a good hit in the Overseas with an impressive gross of $1,750,917 from UK and is also doing quite well in the US grossing $1,367,024.
‘Jodhaa Akbar’ a nearly superhit from India and a blockbuster in the overseas has collected 1.65 lakhs from Mumbai, 1.05 lakhs from Ahmedabadand and approximately 2 lakhs from Delhi.
